Spirituality isn’t just something I believe in — it’s something I remember. Not with proof or science, but with a quiet knowing in my soul.

Over the years, I’ve questioned everything — especially during times of hardship. I’ve faced grief, burnout, parenting challenges, and felt betrayed by life and people I loved.

But in those moments when life stripped me bare, I began to separate ego from soul. And something beautiful happened:

I started to remember who I am — and why I came here.

The Wedding Favour That Spoke From the Future

Recently, a memory came back to me — a strange coincidence that now feels like so much more.

Years ago, when I got married, we ordered personalised favours for the guests. They were meant to have both our names printed on them. But when we received them — and only after they were handed out — we realised one of the names was completely wrong.

It didn’t say my name. It said a completely different one.

At the time, I was furious. My partner’s name was foreign, so if they were going to mess one up, I would’ve understood if it had been his — but mine? How could they get that wrong?

Eventually, I let it go. We laughed it off, forgot about it, moved on.

Fast forward a few years, we had a child.
We were choosing between two names — aiming for something easy to pronounce in both English and Spanish. We disagreed on the spelling of our first choice, so we settled on the second.

It wasn’t until years later that I remembered those wedding favours. Unknowingly, we had matched the one that had appeared on them years earlier.
And suddenly, it hit me:

That was her.
She had sent a message from beyond the veil.
She was telling us she was coming.

And from that moment, I began to see her differently — not just as a young child navigating emotional storms, but as an ancient and powerful soul.

She didn’t just end up with me.
She chose me.
To help her become who she’s meant to be.

And that changed everything.

Because now, I don’t just see her as a responsibility.
I see her as my equal.
My mirror.
My purpose.

Soul Contracts, Life Paths & Parenting an Advanced Soul

Many spiritual traditions suggest that souls choose certain experiences before they’re born — including their parents, their challenges, and even the pain they’ll encounter.

Not to suffer for suffering’s sake. But to evolve.

When I became a mother — especially to a neurodivergent child — and later discovered my own neurodivergence, I began to ask deeper questions:

  • Why is this so hard?
  • Why do I have to fight for every small win?
  • Why do I feel like nothing comes easily?

And the answer that came wasn’t simple… but it was empowering.

The Truth About Soul Work

People often say, “If you’re on the right path, the Universe (or God) will support you.”

But I don’t think that’s the full picture.

You can be walking your soul’s path and still feel unsupported.
Still struggle financially. Still feel alone. Still ache to be seen.

But that doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path.
It means you’re being tempered — like steel in fire.

I believe:

  • The universe doesn’t rescue us. It responds to our alignment.
  • Soul purpose requires hard work — not wishful thinking.
  • Manifestation isn’t about magical thinking, it’s about inner congruence.
  • Even when it feels like no one is watching… your soul is.

Why Souls Choose Hard Lives

Why would a soul choose suffering? Why incarnate into trauma, loss, or hardship like I did?

Here’s what many soul traditions say:

Earth is a soul school. One of the hardest — but also the richest.

Here:

  • Time feels linear
  • Emotions are intense
  • Duality (ego/soul, light/dark) is deeply felt

Souls come here to forget, so they can remember through choice — which deepens the soul more than never forgetting at all.

Trauma isn’t the goal — but healing in its wake is where true power is born.

That’s why old souls often choose harder paths.
Not as punishment.
But because they can hold more light — if they choose growth over bitterness, expansion over contraction, love over fear.

We’re not here because we fell.
We’re here because we chose to rise.

Why?

Because consciousness evolves through contrast.
Creation expands by experiencing itself in all its forms.

There is no final enlightenment.
Only deeper remembering.
More refined love.
Greater unity.

Advanced Souls & Neurodivergence

An advanced soul is believed to be a soul that has incarnated many times and has matured through a range of experiences. These souls carry wisdom, compassion, and a deep inner knowing — even if, as children, they express it in ways that appear fiery, intense, or sensitive.

While investigating what are the traits of advanced souls in children, it resembled greatly to neurodivergent traits:

  • They seem “older than their age”
  • Intense emotional or intuitive capacity
  • Deep empathy, sometimes paired with emotional volatility
  • Strong-willed or highly independent
  • Highly sensitive to injustice or being misunderstood
  • Speak truths beyond their years — sometimes cryptically or unconsciously

So I began to wonder: Are advanced souls neurodivergent?

After being diagnosed myself — and finally shedding years of masking — I noticed something:

Neurotypical people, in general, seem more comfortable following the unspoken rules of society, even when those rules lead to a life of quiet disconnection.
But neurodivergent people? We stand out.
Even when we try not to.

We ask deeper questions.
We challenge the norm.
We feel more, push harder, and often struggle to fit because we were never meant to.

Just look around:
Most of the inventors, visionaries, artists, musicians, healers, and cultural disruptors were — and are — neurodivergent.

So maybe this isn’t a coincidence.
Maybe we didn’t come here to fit.
Maybe we came here with a purpose:

  • To break down outdated systems
  • To embody truth — even when it causes discomfort
  • To challenge our families, our cultures, and the world to evolve

My daughter is one of these souls.
Parenting her is one of the hardest — and holiest — assignments of my life.
Even when it’s tough.
Especially when it’s tough.

What About Me? Am I an Advanced Soul Too?

I’ve often asked myself that. Maybe you have too.

And what I’ve come to believe is: yes — I probably am.
Not because I’m perfect, or wise, or enlightened. But because I remember more than this world teaches.

Here’s what that looks like for me:

  • I feel things deeply — often too deeply.
  • I see synchronicities and patterns others ignore.
  • I want my work to matter — even if it breaks me open.
  • I have a sense I’m here for something greater, not just to fulfil my ego, but to help others.
  • I’m restless, sensitive, deep.
  • I keep choosing love over bitterness, creation over fear, presence over panic.

That’s the signature of an old soul.

Not better. Just… quieter. Deeper. Tired of the surface. Ready for the real.

Nature, Animals & the Living Web of Earth

I’ve often wondered what role other living beings play in the Spirit World.
Many spiritual traditions speak of animals and nature as sacred messengers, but I’ve never fully believed it — at least not in the way belief is usually defined.

I don’t hold blind faith in things I can’t justify or understand.
To me, “faith” has often felt like something humans created to control others.

And yet…
Lately, I’ve seen too many signs to ignore.
Too many “coincidences” that feel more like whispers from something greater.
Too many messages coming through animals, symbols, and the natural world.

So instead of dismissing it, I ask myself:

What if?

What if there’s more than meets the eye?
What if we don’t have to understand everything to feel its truth?
What if staying open is more powerful than needing proof?

This question — what if — has become my quiet form of faith.
Not a belief in absolutes, but an openness to possibility.

So what if…

  • Animals carry soul energy — and some return to us across lifetimes, again and again, in different forms but familiar presence.
  • Trees are ancient record-keepers — elders in slow motion, holding wisdom in their rings and roots.
  • The Earth itself — Gaia — is conscious. Not just alive, but dreaming us into being.

Nature doesn’t forget the divine.
It is the divine — made visible, touchable, and breathing all around us.

And maybe, just maybe…
That’s why the forest feels like a temple.
Why animals feel like family.
Why the wind sometimes sounds like it knows your name.

Final Reflection

This isn’t just a blog post. It’s a soul letter — to you, from you, through me.

Life isn’t always easy.
Sometimes it feels like too much — like we’ve been handed more than we can carry.
Things don’t always fall into place. The path isn’t always clear.

But in those moments, take a deep breath.
Reconnect with nature. With your higher self. With that quiet knowing inside you.

You weren’t sent here to live an easy life.
You were sent here to live fully.
To make the most of what life hands you.
To keep showing up — even when it’s hard.
To honour the struggle, to learn from it, and to grow through it.

You’re here to find beauty in chaos.
To discover light in the darkest moments.
To let go of what no longer serves you — and to fiercely hold on to what does.
To see the opportunities hiding inside your hardest days.

Because this life — this one life — is made of the moments we often overlook:

The sound of the ocean.
The birds singing outside your window.
The way the wind brushes your face.
The quiet presence of someone who truly sees you.

These are the things we can’t take for granted.

And one day — far down the line — when you look back from the edge of your life…
You won’t remember the daily worries, the small annoyances that once felt so big.

You’ll remember the things that made you feel deeply.
The moments that brought you peace.
The love you gave. The beauty you noticed. The resilience you chose.

Even the hardships — they’ll glow differently in hindsight.
Not as pain, but as proof:
That you lived.
That you grew.
That you evolved.

✨ Thank you for walking this part of the journey with me. If you’ve ever felt the quiet pull of your soul, glimpsed your purpose through hardship, or sensed something greater guiding you — I’d love to hear your story.

And if you or someone you love is neurodivergent, I’d be especially curious: how do you see that wiring as part of your soul’s mission? What if the very traits we’re told to “fix” are actually clues to our purpose?

Let’s remember, reflect, and rise together.
